Chosen Charity 2017
We’re happy to announce that ‘Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Service’ is our chosen charity 2017
Paws & Claws are based in Sayers Common, West Sussex, and are devoted to rescuing and re-homing lost & abandoned cats.
They encourage spaying & neutering to avoid unwanted kittens, and provide permanent sanctuary for old and difficult-to-home cats.
No cat is ever put to sleep except on veterinary advice, and all money raised goes directly to benefit the animals in their care.
Every effort is made to find homes for cats who are lost, neglected or abandoned.
If the original owner cannot be traced, the team try to find a suitable new owner.
However, in some cases this is not possible for various reasons. The cat may be too old to be re-homed or may have been traumatised in some way and therefore it is difficult or unsuitable for re-homing.
Cats may come to us when their owner dies and no-one else wants them. They often come to us when an owner moves, can no longer manage to look after them, or develops long-term health problems.
Sometimes the cat may have a health condition that the owner feels unable to cope with.
As long as their vet thinks the cats can still enjoy quality of life, they move into the Pavilion to live out their lives receiving the care they need.
There are usually about 12—15 residents at one time and they can be sponsored to help with their upkeep by monthly or annual donations.
