Microchipping

microchipThe owner’s details and a special code are stored on the chip and can be revealed by a special scanner carried by all vets and most pet rescue societies carry microchip scaners. Identification is instantaneous and owners can often be informed that their pet has been found before they realise that it was lost.

The code links to the PetLog database that contains the necessary contact information to ensure a fast and foolproof way of tracing an owner. This means that should a cat or dog go missing, their owners can be identified quickly and easily.

The procedure is also required for the identification of all pets that may be undergoing the Pet Passport Scheme or export into the UK.
